Learn from Nature

The video that we watch in the class is really amazing and inspired.

Sustainability, the term is discussed all the time over the world in recent years, however, how many people really understand its essential meaning? Or do we really know what is the right way access to true sustainability? I always keep doubt of some advance machines which are so called “green” products could really solve today’s environmental problems.

For instance, solar panel seems a great invention and solution for problem of energy lack. Then it is indeed wildly spread and applied for saving a lot of fossil-fuel. And it also has become one of the biggest businesses of international trade recently. But what happened now? Thousands residents who live closed to the factory produce solar panels suffer serious disease. Last two months, I saw a lot of news report the producing materials and process impact human health. Most of manufactories of solar panel gather in China. I heard the news from local channel in my hometown, almost all residents in one village got cancer because of the pollution from the solar panel factory. I have to ask is this sustainable?

Of course, it is impossible for human civilization to return back to the era of no technology and industry. What we need to learn from nature is not only the bionics in aesthetic form, but more important the sustainable process from getting, transforming, using to feedback.
