Color & Play

Hi classmates,

Cheers to our last day of class! I don’t know about you, but I am feeling very cheerful… kind of like the color yellow!

A lot of you posted fantastic resources for color theory. I found one more site that you may want to check out!!! www.mariaclaudiacortes.com. This site is an interactive experience of color communication and color symbolism. (The graphics are very playful and interactive… this is a site you can handle on the last day of class!)

As we discovered during lecture, colors ignite different emotions in each of us. This site introduces you to each color’s compliments, traits, symbols around the world, and more. Each color also “stars” in its own movie… I would recommend checking it out. On top of that, you can play with color in motion by adding different shades to a moving kaleidoscope. Beautiful.

Play is a major ingredient of creativity. Resources like http://www.mariaclaudiacortes.com help designers explore their lightheartedness and interact with each color in a new and different way. Over the break, let’s use play to explore our creativity and come back to winter term refreshed and alive.

It’s been fun!
Ali
